many webmasters have wondered what is wrong with Google. They see Yahoo may have 6500 back links to their site while Google may show only 6. Many have

Many web master seem to want to do their sites backwards. They build their sites, then they worry about SEO. If you would build your sites with SEO in mind this could make your efforts a little easier and pay off bigger in the long run.

First thing you should do when creating your site is keyword research. Do some research into finding a group of related keyword phrases. One of the best tools for this is GooGle keyword suggestion tool, and it is FREE. Simply create a Google account and log in to the AdWords program. From there you can use their suggestion tool by simply putting in a keyword and hitting find related keywords. Google will give you a list of related keywords, their search volume and more importantly the competitiveness of that keyword. Find keyword phrases, those are two and three word combinations, and find those that are not competitive. You will get much better (search engine results page) rankings if you will do this. Find about five or so related phrases to maximise the keywords you will get a good rank on.

Now that you have chosen the correct keywords build your sites content. Place these words in your content, and remember Google looks for how these words are placed on your site. Try to have these words near each other in the same paragraph at least. Google sees these related keywords near each other and learns what your site is about and decides the of your sites keywords by this.

Next Place your strongest keywords into your title. This is where a lot of new webmaster go very wrong. This is not the title of your site, it is the page title. This should have your best keywords in them. this is the first thing the visitor is going to see when they do a search, they will see your page title and then either the description or a snippet from your page. The title is a meta tag, and unless you believe people will be searching for the phrase "Welcome to our online shop", you are wasting your time unless you have your keywords listed here. Now a word of wisdom to you. Give each page a DIFFERNT title, use your keywords for that page and optimise each page for a different keyword phrase would even be a good idea. By doing this you enhance your sites ability to rank well for multiple keyword phrases.

I would also strongly suggest using your main keywords in your same site links. This means in your menu, the words you use to point to different pages on your site, make the links text match your keywords if possible.

Next plaice the keywords in your description tag, Your main keywords I would use at least two times here, and then your related keywords after that. In general your main keyword phrase should be first in you contents, title and in your description. The title and description are probably the most important meta tags there is so use them correctly.

I know a lot of you have heard that search engines do not use meta tags info any more. This is absolute nonsense. If you do a search for any word, any word at all if you look at the results you will see that word probably in the title, description and sometimes even in the URL. There is a little bit of truth in what they are saying, they just don't really know what they are really talking about. With search engines, the only thing about meta tags that are relevant is the meta keyword tag. I say irrelevant because long ago search engines relied heavily on this tag to place your site in it's but not so now. This tag is still seen and used by the search engines but it's gravity on your SERP ranking is greatly diminished. I dare anyone who insist that meta tags are not important any more to remove them from there websites and see how close to page one they get!

Now you have built your website from the beginning to the end with SEO, Your chances over the next guy are now outstanding!. Good luck and come back and see us.
